with you some information about myself. As I sit here typing, I realize that you might be curious to know a little more about the person behind the screen. So, let me introduce myself and share some of the basics.

My name is Melissa Rath, and I reside in the beautiful country of Australia. At 43 years old, I've gathered a wealth of experiences and pursued various interests. Professionally, I am an Industrial Sewing Machinist, but my passion extends far beyond that. I'm a proud mother, a dedicated milliner, and a general crafter. I find joy in knitting, sewing, scrapbooking, and exploring a wide range of crafts. From wielding power tools to embarking on creative projects, my crafty endeavours have become an integral part of my life. In fact, my bucket list of crafts yet to learn seems to be ever-growing.

Once upon a time, I even dabbled in playing the flute, and while my bucket list now includes a few musical instruments, my true creative passions lie in the realm of sewing, knitting, and crafting.

As I reflect on my journey, I recall knitting my first garments for Barbie at the tender age of 8. However, it was my grandmother who introduced me to the art of sewing when I was around 12 years old. From that point on, my fascination with fabric and stitches took hold, shaping my path and leading me towards the world of clothing manufacture.

In my younger days, I harboured dreams of becoming an Olympic Gymnast and even contemplated a career as a racing car driver. Alas, I realized that my aspirations were better suited for the realm of imagination rather than reality. Eventually, I came to the realization that my true calling lay in studying sewing, which led me to pursue courses in clothing manufacture and business studies.

During my clothing manufacture studies, a kind-hearted woman, whom I had the pleasure of working with during work experience, recognized what she believed to be a natural talent within me. She encouraged me to explore the art of millinery. However, it took until 2011 for me to find the opportunity to delve into the world of millinery, and it has been an incredible journey ever since.

So, in a nutshell, that's a brief summary of the past 43 years, filled with experiences that have shaped me into the craft-loving,
passionate individual I am today.

Star sign: Taurus, which perfectly embodies my stubborn and determined nature, much like a bull.

Siblings: I have two sisters, making me the quintessential middle child.

Favorite colour: Pink, a hue that never fails to bring a smile to my face.

Favorite movie: "The Phantom Of the Opera," a mesmerizing tale of love and passion.

Favorite author: Kelly Rimmer, whose writing transports me to different worlds and touches my soul.

Currently reading: "The Dressmakers of Auschwitz," a powerful and thought-provoking book.

Country I'd love to visit: Ireland, with its enchanting landscapes and rich cultural heritage.

Language I'd love to learn: Gaelic, to deepen my connection with Irish culture and traditions.
